Sport Excel-Milo NSC ASUM Junior Swimming Circuit 2015 Grand Final RESULTS

The PSC Swim Team went down to Kuala Lumpur for the Milo Grand Final 2015, with a team of 16 swimmers.

The Milo Grand Final is the third leg of the of Sport Excel-Milo NSC ASUM Junior Swimming Circuit. The swimmers who compete in this meet are whittled down to the top 24 swimmers in the country, after competing in the first two rounds. Competition is fierce and swimmers are only allowed to swim the events that they qualify for. For example, if you qualify for 100m breast stroke, that is the only event that you will swim for. The Grand Final is swum in 3 heats per event and out of the 24 swimmers, only the top 8 will qualify to swim for the finals in the afternoon.

The PSC Swim Team comprised of:

  1. Jesslyn Lim
  2. Koay Yi Chern
  3. Chris Chew – 3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze – overall Best Boy in the 10 and under Boys Category (Group 4)
  4. Cieran Wong
  5. Jared Lee
  6. Toh Ting Wei

  12. Leong Zi Jun
  13. Ananda Lim – 4 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze – broke 1 meet record – overall Best Boy in the 13 to 14 Boys Category (Group 2)
  14. Alex Lim
  15. Andre Chuah
  16. Dominic Cheang

The PSC Swim Team emerged in 4th place overall, with 104 points, out of 26 clubs in Malaysia.

All in all, the team did their best. Our appreciation to the Coaches (especially Dave Tan for travelling with the team), the Team Manager (Marco Wong), the Chaperons (especially May Chew – who was sick, but still did her best), the Parents who helped (notably Carinna Koay) and our formidable Treasurer (Jesslyn Lee) who always ensures that we have funds. Without all these cogs in the wheel, our PSC Swim Team would not run smoothly. Thank you!!

Until our next swim meet… Please come and attend the talk on Sunday afternoon with Ananda and Alex’s Dad – Dr. Lim Yit Aun. You will not get another opportunity until he comes home again from the US. Don’t miss it!
